Finding the Way Home: A Retreat and Support Community for Returning Veterans, Spring 2009

Fee: $10/day and the opportunity to offer a teaching donation if desired

This four month group is designed to build a safe and welcoming community for returning veterans. It will consist of four monthly one-day retreats, two in San Francisco and two at Green Gulch Farm in Muir Beach.

Activities will include:

  • Meditation and mindfulness practices to cultivate awareness and healing
  • Writing as a practice to develop self-awareness and expression
  • Gardening and farming to engage with the natural vitality of working with the land
  • Weekly mindfulness and stress management practices to integrate skills being learned in the retreats.
  • Weekly phone or e-mail contact with the leaders and other participants.

Chris Fortin is a Buddhist priest and psychotherapist. The retreat is non-denominational and open to everyone.
