Zoketsu Norman Fischer, Zen Teacher and founder of Everyday Zen, writes about Lee's teaching:

"As a Zen teacher I have for many years been impressed with sensing as the most effective method of deeply involving students in the ancient Buddhist practice of mindfulness. The Mindfulness Sutra begins with mindfulness of the body, with breathing, standing, sitting, walking, movement, but without much detail as to how to practice these things. I believe it was the special genius of Charlotte Selver to have independently uncovered the deepest aspects of these practices, and to do so with consummate playfulness and openness. What Charlotte and her husband and co-teacher Charles Brooks taught had almost all the advantages of Buddhism and none of the drawbacks! Now that Charlotte and Charles are gone, their successors continue the work. And none of them are more talented, more humane, or more true to the spirit of sensing than Lee Klinger Lesser. Her classes and workshops are always tremendously satisfying and full of wonder. She has taken what she received and made it her own."
